Job Description Job Description We are looking for a
detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in White Plains,
New York. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a
vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting
month-end and year-end processes, and maintaining the integrity of
our accounting systems. This role offers an opportunity to work
closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to the ongoing
success of a growing organization. Responsibilities: • Prepare and
post journal entries with accuracy to support month-end and
year-end closing processes. • Reconcile general ledger accounts and
investigate discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy. • Assist
in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
statements and reports. • Analyze financial data to identify
trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. • Manage
fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and
consistent accounting treatment of business activities. • Support
external audits by providing organized documentation and responses
to auditor inquiries. • Stay up-to-date with evolving accounting
standards and assess their implications on financial reporting. •
Perform bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of
outstanding items. • Contribute to the improvement and streamlining
of accounting processes and systems.• Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting or a related field. • CPA certification or eligibility
is highly preferred. • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience,
with public accounting experience as a plus. • Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data manipulation.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage Intacct is
advantageous. • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply
accounting principles effectively. • Excellent communication
skills, capable of explaining financial data clearly and concisely.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a commitment to
maintaining accuracy in financial records.
