Capital One’s Governance, Valuations, & Innovation (GV&I)
Team is seeking a Senior Director to lead the Commercial Valuations
team. The Commercial Valuation team is a foundational part of
Capital One’s risk management practices by ensuring robust and
compliant valuations for Commercial Real Estate and Enterprise
Value reliant transactions. This person will partner with
associates across the Commercial businesses, Enterprise-wide
functions, and the Credit Risk & Analytics (CR&A) Division to
enhance risk governance, credit policy, controls, processes, and
assurance practices as well as implement changes that are strategic
and transformative for the Bank. Capital One’s Governance,
Valuations, & Innovation (GV&I) Team is a second line of
defense housed within the Credit Risk & Analytics (CR&A)
Division. CR&A is responsible for Risk Governance, Risk
Appetite, Credit Risk Policy, and Assurance Exam Management
activities for the Commercial Bank. The team’s contribution is
critical in providing a foundation for sound risk management
practices, complying with internal policies and regulations, and
exhibiting the overall culture of Capital One. Specific
responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversee the
Commercial Valuation Team’s delivery of consistent and compliant
Commercial Real Estate and Enterprise Value reliant valuations
across Capital One, including distressed assets and emerging asset
classes Serve as a trusted advisor to product, business, and risk
teams to identify, document, and effectively mitigate credit risk
Planning and driving changes to current processes, procedures, and
controls to improve and enhance risk governance Formulating and
implementing innovative solutions, with a focus on leveraging
technology such as AI and automated workflow tools Demonstrating

our journey to Change Banking for Good Work closely with
associates, conduct reviews of work product, and support
professional development through coaching Leverage thorough
knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks including Interagency
Guidelines, FIRREA, and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal
Practice to communicate requirements to stakeholders across Capital
One The Senior Director will be instrumental in influencing
stakeholders in the first and second lines of defense as part of
enhancing risk processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory
requirements. Therefore, the core competencies for the ideal
candidate include: Experience in risk governance Strategic and
analytic orientation - a proven track record of decision making and
problem-solving based on available data Excellent verbal and
written communication skills Highly collaborative orientation and
strong team player who places the best interests of the
organization above personal objectives Ability to establish
credibility, trust, and support within all levels of the
organization Aptitude for synthesizing complex issues into a clear
and concise summary Proactive and results-oriented Ability to
develop and manage team members Experience acting as a strategic
thought partner with a forward leaning mindset related to the
Commercial Real Estate industry Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s
degree or Military experience At least 12 years of experience in a
regulatory environment, risk governance or risk policy management
at a regulated institution. Preferred Qualifications At least 15
years of experience of risk governance, commercial lending, credit
risk oversight and working with internal business partners within
the financial services industry Masters Degree State Certified
General Real Estate Appraiser MAI designation Valuation credentials
(ASA/AM, CPA/ABV, CVA, AVA, CFA) Experience with ARGUS, RIMS, and
Capital IQ Experienced people leader At this time, Capital One will

position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for
this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this
salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work
within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One
is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for
part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number
of hours to be regularly worked. Chicago, IL: $217,000 - $247,700
for Sr. Director, Risk Management McLean, VA: $238,700 - $272,400
for Sr. Director, Risk Management Richmond, VA: $217,000 - $247,700
for Sr. Director, Risk Management Riverwoods, IL: $217,000 -
$247,700 for Sr. Director, Risk Management Candidates hired to work
in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with
that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to
any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the
candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn
performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash
bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be
discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan. Capital
