Do: Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Defense and
Security Segment, where the individual will collect and analyze
data to identify trends, develop visualizations in support of
organizational and mission goals, and support decision-making for
large-scale programs within the Department of Homeland Security
(DHS). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Design
and develop data visualization and dashboard solutions to provide
required analytics insights (Power BI) - Collecting, cleaning, and
analyzing data using a variety of methods and tools, such as R -
Identifying and creating additional data visualization
capabilities, as needed - Ensuring data governance and quality
assurance standards are met - Conducting data validation and
remediation using tools such as R and Excel - Analyzing current
process and identifying potential improvements - Working with team
members to summarize and report on business process improvements to
include gaps in current processes and initiatives to improve
processes for an organization - Organizing and leading client
meetings, including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering
agendas and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required
documentation; and documenting, tracking, and following-up on
action items - Summarizing and presenting information and reports
to the team and make recommendations (both oral and written). What
You Will Need: - Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or
DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of
their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates
with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred. -
Bachelors Degree - At least THREE (3) years of experience in
consulting, data analytics, or project management What Would Be
Nice To Have: - Active DHS Public Trust - Law Enforcement
experience - Data visualization tools such as Power BI - Experience
developing new and re-designing existing processes to meet new
and/or evolving business requirements - Good critical thinking
skills, writing skills, and communication skills - Experience in
business analysis - Experience connecting visualization to various
types of data sources - Experience developing training materials -
Experience with process improvement - Database optimization -
Monitoring program operations to ensure compliance with federal
