DJJ is seeking a General Utility Trades Worker . This role provides basic assistance for plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds operations. Performs duties safely and in a manner that supports the mission and goals of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Job responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to: Reads, comprehends, and follows oral and written instructions; Works independently and as part of a team; Communicates effectively orally and in written English; Ability to lift heavy objects as required; Ability to serve on-call during nights, weekends, and holidays, on a rotating basis. Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and diagrams and use appropriate tools and equipment. Performs and assists with carpentry and painting projects; Performs general maintenance and repairs; Operates vehicles and small machinery; Follows safety practices related to work; Performs and assists general electrical repairs and installation.
