is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for a full-time onsite role
in Manassas, VA with experience leading and managing capital
projects in manufacturing or medical environment. Experience in
facilities infrastructure is required. Experience coordinating work
with external architectural & engineering firms, equipment
manufacturers, and contractors on facility engineering projects is
preferred. Relocation package may be available for this
opportunity. Serving as ATCC's internal mechanical systems expert,
this role ensures infrastructure is engineered, commissioned, and
maintained to meet the demands of high?reliability laboratory,
repository, and bioproduction environments. Join ATCC and be part

Mechanical Infrastructure Leadership: Leads scoping and execution
of facility system upgrade projects, ensuring requirements,
installation needs, commissioning, and long?term operational
considerations are fully integrated. System Performance &
Optimization: Evaluates and improves mechanical system performance,
troubleshooting issues and implementing enhancements to strengthen
reliability, efficiency, and compliance. Independent Technical
Expertise: Operates as the primary subject matter expert for
mechanical systems, resolving complex engineering challenges
independently and supporting adjacent disciplines as needed.
Front?End Engineering & Design Integration: Conducts FEED (Front
End Engineering & Design), reviews technical documentation, and
applies engineering methods to support capacity planning,
redundancy, and infrastructure improvement. Vendor & Stakeholder
Coordination: Partners with architectural & engineering firms,
equipment manufacturers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure
project alignment with design intent, safety expectations, and
operational continuity. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 8 or
more years' experience, including 0–2 years' supervisory experience
or equivalent experience. Experience leading mechanical
infrastructure projects in manufacturing, bioproduction,
laboratory, or mission?critical environments required. Experience
in commissioning of systems and turnover to end users preferred.
Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose system issues,
implement improvements, and manage technically complex challenges.
Experience coordinating work with external architectural &
engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, and contractors on
facility engineering projects is preferred. Ability to work with
lab staff and communicate project timelines to stakeholders.
Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $140,000 -
$160,000 annually with potential for relocation package. Actual
compensation will be determined based on experience and
qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market
data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for
additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases
