The founding of Generation180 was prompted by a growing realization that we're at a tipping point in our country's transition to clean energy. The convergence of macro trends across the power, commercial, finance, and political sectors, as well as the arrival of affordable rooftop solar power and electric vehicles to the mass market, have made it possible for our generation to fundamentally change our direction. We can now dramatically accelerate the arrival of a 100% clean energy future, and we all have a role to play. Job Duties The Director will be primarily responsible for developing and growing our electric vehicle campaign, which is raising awareness of the benefits of driving electric through a variety of outreach events and creative media, connecting local electric car owners with neighbors who want to learn more, and offering discounts on the latest electric car models available. The Program Director will be joining the organization at a critical moment in its development as we now have the opportunity to scale up this campaign with the goal of building a national movement. The Director will be responsible for: Translating vision into action for the national campaign, including campaign design and management, strategic partner engagement, movement building, content generation, and media outreach; Developing and implementing a plan for growing and scaling the campaign across the country, including the expansion of the I'm Going Electric pledge, dealership discounts, and community engagement events; Staying well-informed on current federal and state policies and initiatives related to electric vehicles and being able to respond to the fast-changing landscape; Continuing the growth of the Virginia campaign and relationships with key organizational partners; Overseeing the Electrify Your Ride team and collaborating with team members to implement campaign strategies; and Contributing to the growth of the organization and the development of other program areas and key initiatives. Qualifications Proven ability to develop and execute on long-term, national campaigns with clear goals, strategies and metrics for success. 10-15 years of relevant experience (including in leadership positions) in advocacy, communications, or issue campaigns in the areas of sustainability, climate change, clean energy, or a closely related field. Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to take initiative, develop ideas, and see them through to implementation. Attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills. Strong verbal and written communications skills and high comfort level with public speaking and media interviews. Effective relationship-building skills, including a demonstrated background working across sectors and organizations to build larger, coordinated efforts that drive stronger outcomes. Experience leading and managing teams with a rich mix of talent, backgrounds, and perspectives. Highly collaborative team player able to function at a high level under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with many simultaneous moving pieces. Flexible, positive attitude with a good sense of humor. Ability to learn to use new technology platforms to efficiently coordinate campaign activities. Passion for Generation180's mission. Expertise in electric mobility and clean energy is a bonus but not required. Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.
