Registered Nurse (RN) | Oncology Location: Washington, DC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,074 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: DC License required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Completion of at least one travel assignment - Experience with care and management of ports - Knowledge of radiation oncology procedures Description: The position involves the care and management of patients primarily with cancer diagnoses. Responsibilities include the management of central line care, acute tumor lysis syndrome, and anaphylaxis. The nurse will also manage extravasation injuries, hemorrhage, and sepsis. Other duties include recognizing spinal cord compression and adhering to neutropenic precautions. Tracheostomy care and external radiation therapy management will be required. The nurse should be familiar with radiation safety precautions and managing altered mental status. Skills in managing constipation, diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, and nausea/vomiting are essential. Neuropathy care and the ability to educate patients on their treatment options are necessary. The nurse will prepare charts, assist with disability forms, and handle pharmacy calls. Telephone triage may also be a part of the role. The focus will be on primary cancer patients, including those with prostate, breast, colorectal, cervical, endometrial, head and neck, and lung cancers. Special procedures may include new consults for radiation and simulation education. Collaboration with social workers and nutritionists is expected for comprehensive patient care.
