ACLS BLS NIHSS Must-Have: EPIC charting experience Experience with
cardiac monitoring and emergency response Description: This
position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit.
The shift will consist of three 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM
to 7:15 AM. Experience in EPIC charting is required. The nurse will
work with adult patients with neurological conditions. The role
includes the management and monitoring of patients recovering from
neurosurgery and stroke. Care will also include neurosurgical
recovery, stroke management, and neuro-specific diagnoses. The
nurse will be responsible for IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood
product administration. Central and peripheral line care is
expected. Medication administration including cardiac drips is
required, but titration is not included. Assistance with
respiratory support will be necessary, including nasal cannula and
oxygen administration. The nurse will be part of a rapid response
team and will follow isolation precautions. Patient ratios will
typically be 1:4 to 1:5. The nurse will float to other units as
required, based on clinical skillset. A commitment to working at
least one holiday during the contract is necessary. Wear
appropriate personal protective equipment as required. Candidates
are expected to have robust skills in telemetry and the
interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with the management of
specific neurological conditions is advantageous. Strong
communication and teamwork skills are essential for
