MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare provider in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated RN Assistant Director of Nursing for our Medical-Surgical (MedSurg) unit. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing the daily operations and administration of our MedSurg department, ensuring the highest standard of patient care and compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires a strong leader who can manage nursing staff performance, facilitate training, and implement strategic department initiatives aimed at improving quality and efficiency. Assist in the management and oversight of the MedSurg unit, ensuring compliance with all hospital policies and healthcare regulations. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement strategies for improving the quality of care and patient satisfaction. Lead and mentor nursing staff, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional development. Oversee patient care planning and coordination to ensure high-quality treatment outcomes. Participate in budgeting and clinical resource management, optimizing the use of materials and personnel. Monitor patient care to adhere to established best practices and ethical standards. Strong leadership and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and hospital management Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment Expertise in clinical skills specific to MedSurg nursing Medical Insurance Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. BLS/ACLS certification. Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) preferred.
