Join a high-acuity Emergency Department (ED) team providing trauma and critical care in Central Virginia. Job Details - Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Lynchburg, Virginia; Central Virginia / Blue Ridge Mountains) - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $2010 per week - Setting: Emergency Department (ED), Level 2 Trauma Center - Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract (Travel RN opportunity) - Start Dates: 4/7/2026 or 4/20/2026 (Orientation occurs every other Monday) - Duration: 13 weeks (assignments end on Saturdays) - Shift: 12-hour nights (48 hours per week) - Weekend Requirement: Must work every other weekend - Float: Not required - Candidate Eligibility: Candidates residing within 60 miles are not eligible Job Requirements - Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) / Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience in a similar-size ED - Prior travel nursing experience required - Experience working in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center required (trauma/critical care experience preferred) - Active Virginia RN or Compact RN license required at time of submission - Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (or equivalent trauma certification such as ATCN/ATLC) - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required - Cerner EMR experience strongly preferred (ED documentation experience highly valued) - All requested time off must be submitted with your application Responsibilities - Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED setting - Rapidly assess and respond to trauma, resuscitation, and critical care situations as an ER/ED nurse - Perform triage, patient stabilization, medication administration, and procedures consistent with ED scope - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, trauma teams, respiratory therapy, radiology) to optimize patient outcomes - Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate documentation, order entry, and care coordination - Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols - Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and ED-specific competencies Why Lynchburg?
