Work in a supportive outpatient oncology infusion center near the Potomac River and historic neighborhoods while delivering high-quality oncology nursing care. Job Details - Location: Washington, DC 20007 — Washington, DC oncology jobs / DC nursing jobs - Unit Name: Lombardi Oncology Infusion - Setting: Outpatient Oncology Infusion Center (Infusion Clinic) - Assignment Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks) — travel nursing assignment - Start Date: April 20, 2026 - End Date: July 20, 2026 - Shift: 4 x 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) - Hours per Week: 40 - Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required - Estimated Weekly Pay: $2010–$2120/week Job Requirements / Qualifications - Active DC Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission - BLS certification (American Heart Association) - ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification (chemotherapy nurse credential preferred) - Minimum 2 years of recent oncology infusion experience (outpatient infusion, chemo administration) - At least 1 prior travel assignment required (travel RN experience preferred) - Experience with central lines, ports, and PICC line care - Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) - Preferred: Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and inpatient oncology experience, phlebotomy skills, previous charge nurse experience Key Responsibilities - Coordinate and deliver safe, effective infusion therapy and chemotherapy to oncology patients in an outpatient setting - Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other IV medications per established protocols and infusion center policies - Monitor and manage infusion reactions, oncologic emergencies, and acute symptom changes - Provide comprehensive patient education, symptom management, and chemotherapy side-effect counseling - Maintain and access central lines, implanted ports, and PICC lines; perform venous access as appropriate - Implement isolation and neutropenic precautions and follow infection-control standards - Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as required by clinical needs - Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with oncology providers, pharmacists, and support staff to ensure coordinated care - Document all care accurately in the electronic medical record in accordance with facility policies and compliance standards Advance your career as an infusion nurse and make a meaningful impact in outpatient oncology care in Washington, DC.
