General Public - G Job Duties The Infrastructure Engineer works
closely with other Infrastructure Engineers, IT and Security
personnel to troubleshoot and maintain VRS’ infrastructure assets.
This position requires the ability to analyze, troubleshoot and
resolve highly complex issues within VRS’ infrastructure. The
Infrastructure Engineer role will assist in designing, implementing
and supporting VRS infrastructure with a security and operational
mindset. This role will be responsible for maintaining and
supporting Windows Server VMs in a Nutanix virtual environment and
Azure cloud computing. • Recommends and implements new technologies
to support VRS’ business initiatives. • Partners with IT Security
to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure all assets are secure. •
Monitors and maintains enterprise Managed File Transfer
infrastructure. • Provides subject matter expertise on Remote
Access solutions, including Citrix DaaS and BeyondTrust. •
Continuously improves processes and documentation for
Infrastructure assets. • Maintains technical expertise and
knowledge within BigFix Endpoint Manager. • Supports VRS business
services by fulfilling requests and resolving incidents in
documented SLA timings; as well as following all change management
processes. • Ensures security solutions, policies, and procedures
effectively respond to threats to our data and endpoint
infrastructure. • Assists in streamlining project requirements,
creates test and implementation plans, as well as identifies
potential gaps to ensure successful project delivery. • Identifies
automation opportunities in daily tasks utilizing PowerShell or
other scripting languages to automate repeatable tasks. • Balances
operational and project related activities, ensuring timely and
accurate delivery. • Delivers service requests through an ITIL
based Service Management process. • Participates in required after
hours and weekend work as a member of an on-call rotation and as
situations arise. • Completes other related tasks and projects as
assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer
science, information systems, or closely related field. Five (5)
years of experience in technology operations and project delivery,
including extensive experience with Microsoft Server, remote access
solutions, server patch management, system security, and Nutanix
hyper-converged infrastructure or an equivalent combination of
education and relevant experience. Additional Considerations
Knowledge of system administration processes and best practices,
the ability to learn new technologies, and the ability to assist
others in learning new technologies. Understanding of the
interoperability of systems. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot
complex technical issues, problem resolution abilities, and
customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills, and the ability to prepare complex documents, including
general and detailed design specifications. Ability to conduct
research; gather data; compile results; solve problems; design and
develop solutions; analyze complex processes; comprehend
complicated materials and documentation. Ability to prioritize own
work activities with minimal guidance and coaching and to complete
complex projects independently with minimal oversight and
direction. Ability to manage competing priorities to meet goals.
Ability to ascertain and meet customer expectations; solve
technical problems through discovery and analysis with minimal
guidance; develop and manage detailed and accurate work plans and
appropriately communicate work plan risks and impacts to
management; and provide, maintain, and follow technical
documentation. Ability to interact and work effectively and
independently in a fastpaced team environment where priorities can
rapidly change. Ability to manage complex technology projects.
