Position Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, with a general knowledge of related fields and application implications. As a Software Systems Engineer, you will provide in-depth analysis and technical support for systems software products, ensuring seamless integration and user support. You will also assist in planning and conversion for new hardware/software products, maintaining currency and configuring related software products. This position is located in Arlington, VA. Your future duties and responsibilities: Provide specialized expertise within multiple systems and software disciplines, offering technical support and problem resolution. Perform in-depth analysis and support for systems software products, including design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. Assist in planning and conversion for new hardware/software products, ensuring smooth transitions and upgrades. Maintain currency, debug, and configure related software products to ensure optimal performance. Conduct operating systems planning and evaluation for performance analysis, capacity planning, and hardware upgrades. Develop or modify operating systems applications based on specifications, ensuring high-quality outcomes. Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs. Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve overall efficiency of the operating system. Prepare comprehensive product documentation to support system operations and user understanding. Interface with customers to gather information on system requirements or problems, ensuring solutions meet their needs. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Eight (8) years of experience in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology. Experience in web component applications, XML, including schema definitions & generation (XSD), relational databases, and serving as a Webmaster. Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority, demonstrating expertise in software systems engineering. Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship and a Secret clearance are required CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $194,000.00.
