Yes Job Description: Opportunity for an experienced Project Manager
to join an IT Operations Program for a federal government customer.
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead and
coordinate complex threat research and assessment projects. This
role involves overseeing the design and development of advanced
threat detection methods, leveraging cutting-edge data analytics,
machine learning, and statistical modeling processes. The
successful candidate will work closely with diverse teams to
develop actionable intelligence updates, maintain existing models,
and ensure consistent performance optimization for operational
environments. The selected candidate will support both the design
and operational maintenance of threat assessment techniques. By
managing resources and ensuring alignment with security mandates,
the Project Manager will play a key role in safeguarding U.S.
interests through sophisticated data analysis and
intelligence-backed decision-making. As part of an agile team, you
will: Adapt to evolving data requirements and collaborate in a
dynamic, fast-paced environment. Work with agile team(s) to execute
sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and delivery cadence for a
portfolio of production models. Own the full AI/ML model lifecycle
from data analysis and feature engineering through development,
training, testing, validation, deployment, and continuous
monitoring. Translate classified and open-source intelligence on
emerging threats into behavioral models that identify new targeting
approaches for agency enforcement to support Direct Threat Research
modeling initiatives. Manage cross-functional collaboration between
technical teams and government stakeholders to ensure model outputs
are operationally actionable. Have prior experience working on
operational and maintenance activities for analytical models.
Experience coordinating with government agencies or security
organizations is a significant asset. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL
IMPACT As a Model Ops Project Manager, the work you’ll do at GDIT
will be impactful to the CBP mission Key responsibilities include:
Manage end-to-end project activities, including the design,
development, testing, and delivery of customized threat assessment
solutions in collaboration with stakeholders. Oversee all phases of
threat assessment projects, ensuring deliverables include research
findings, machine learning model documentation, rule sets, and the
necessary recommendations for operational integration. Manage the
application of machine learning tools and algorithms to detect
patterns and correlations that enhance threat predictions. Oversee
the profiling, clustering, and classification of various data
sources for advanced analytics, including structuring data for
machine learning processes and data visualizations. Understanding
of statistical modeling techniques (e.g., Regression, Machine
Learning, GLMs, Decision Trees) and experience with data-mining
tools. Direct analyses such as variance analysis, sensitivity, and
specificity studies to evaluate the behavior and precision of
threat assessment mechanisms. Produce detailed reports, including
executive summaries, comparative analyses, and presentations to
explain project outcomes to both technical and non-technical
audiences. Lead efforts to update, refresh, and maintain machine
learning models and rule sets, addressing changes in threat
behaviors or data sources. Preparing and delivering presentations
or briefings on leadership as needed. Demonstrating strong time
management, multitasking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced
environment. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Minimum of seven (7) years
of experience in AI/ML model development, data science operations,
or quantitative analytics with direct experience managing
production machine learning models in an operational environment.
Demonstrated technical expertise across the full model lifecycle
with machine learning frameworks and statistical modeling
techniques including regression, decision trees, gradient boosting,
GLMs, neural networks, and ensemble methods. Ability to translate
complex model performance findings into executive briefings,
quarterly reports, and operational guidance for non-technical
stakeholders. Strong background in managing teams involved in data
analysis, machine learning, or statistical modeling. Familiarity
with threat assessment techniques, intelligence workflows, and
security-driven projects. Demonstrated ability to lead
cross-functional teams and collaborate with multiple stakeholders,
including federal agencies, intelligence entities, or operational
units. Experience working collaboratively with multiple
stakeholders, including federal agencies, intelligence entities, or
operational units. Must be a US citizen able to obtain DHS Public
Trust clearance and successfully pass CBP Background Investigation
(BI) and attain EOD to start work. Preferred Education and
Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related
field. Relevant certifications in Google Data Analytics, MS Power
BI, AWS Certified Machine Learning- Specialty, DataRobot Platform
Certification, or equivalent or related are desirable. Knowledge of
classified data handling and protocols. Experience with threat
indicator reporting methodologies, and ability to develop and
defend model performance reports to government stakeholders highly
preferred. Proven ability to collaborate with Intelligence
Community partners, federal law enforcement agencies, and
government program offices to translate classified threat
intelligence into analytic model requirements. Strong communication
skills to translate technical concepts into actionable and
understandable narratives. Previous CBP OIT support experience and
mission/ environment understanding is highly desired (preference to
people with active CBP BI and a CBP badge). At GDIT, the mission is

range for this position is $124,093 - $149,500. This is not,
however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will
be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly
contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
