The Pediatric Psychologist role provides career tracks for PhD
level licensed psychologists who deliver a variety of comprehensive
psychological services to pediatric patient referrals from within
our UVA Specialty Care Winchester. Services may include complex
diagnostic testing and evaluation, treatment planning and
intervention, applied behavior analysis, individual, group and
family therapy, research, and staff training. The PhD level
Psychologist could supervise subordinate psychologists, associates,
therapists, and counselors and develop treatment policy for the
assigned program area. Exercises independent judgment regarding
individual client care.
- Work requires knowledge of a variety of psychological
interventions such as psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, group therapy
and program development and monitoring working with pediatric
patients and their families.
- Work requires knowledge of a variety of psychological pediatric
assessments used for diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment
- Possess skills in administering and interpreting pediatric
cognitive, neuropsychological, achievement, adaptive behavior,
vocational and personality tests to a wide variety of individuals
with physical, mental and emotional disabilities.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of
desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some
distance to attend meetings, and programs.
