The Medication History (MedHx) Technician plays an integral role
in helping to prevent patient medication errors caused by
inaccurate or incomplete information in the Emergency Department.
Under the supervision of a pharmacist, and according to
departmental policies, procedures and guidelines, the Medication
History technician will assist pharmacists in obtaining an accurate
medication history by interviewing patients and consulting with
their outpatient pharmacies.
- Obtains medication histories on all assigned patients during

Position Compensation Range: $15.37 - $23.82 Hourly
- Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent required
- Experience: 6 months of experience required
- License/Certification: Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy
Technician License required. PTCB or NHA certification

communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and
ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs.
