The University of Virginia's Department of Human Resources is
currently seeking a Recruiter to support the Academic Division.
This is a vital role designed to provide best in class recruitment
services to support the many programs and initiatives of The
University of Virginia. The Recruiter will create an environment of
trust with hiring managers, faculty, and candidates, while
providing a consistent level of service and appropriately sourcing
for open positions. The Recruiter is an experienced HR Specialist
with a proven track record of successful results with demonstrated
experience and knowledge around current recruitment and sourcing
strategies. Expertise with faculty searches is preferred. The
incumbent will report to the Manager of Academic Talent Recruitment
and will not have direct reports. This position is currently remote
due to Covid-19 protocols, but would be reevaluated when it is
deemed appropriate to return to Grounds.
Recruiters engage with hiring officials, providing support for
faculty, staff, and research positions throughout the University,
serving as a liaison between the Schools, UVA HR, and Provost on
faculty and staff matters. This is a full life cycle recruitment
opportunity - the incumbent is responsible for drafting and
executing search strategy, posting and advertising vacant
positions, assisting with the interview process, negotiating and
delivering verbal offers, and ultimately is responsible for
formally extending offer letters.
The successful candidate will thrive in a team environment, but
has the ability to successfully navigate an autonomous role. The
role requires a proven ability to synthesize information, provide
advice, and address constituent needs. Recruiter must be able to
conduct activities and make decisions according to ethical
standards. A proven ability to analyze and present information and
maintain accurate and detailed records is required. The ability to
clearly articulate complex, specific information in area of subject
matter expertise and to advise other professionals on policy and
procedures is essential.
The successful candidate will have at least four years of
professional experience, Bachelor's degree with at least two years
of professional experience, or a Master's degree with at least one
year of professional experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience
working with faculty searches, faculty affairs, human resources, or
