JOB SUMMARY: The Customer Service Representative is a sales role that has accountability for meeting or exceeding both retail branch and individual sales goals through meeting with current and prospective walk-in or referred customers to discuss customer needs, answer questions regarding Banking products and services, identify appropriate Bank products and service solutions, and assist customers in making the most suitable selection of account and financial service. This individual opens, maintains and closes consumer deposit accounts, cross-sells the Bank's products and service, and refers business to other service providers. The Customer Service Representative serves as a back-up teller.Supervisory: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Experience, education, knowledge, skills and abilities:Minimum requirements are:Successful performance in current role with no documented performance issuesTeller experience preferred but not requiredEmbodiment of customer service standardsDemonstrated success at meeting or exceeding referral and other sales-related goalsWell-organized, detail-oriented, problem solver who shows strong initiative and works quickly and accurately with minimal supervisionAbility to set priorities for completing multiple tasks by set deadlines with minimal guidance.Quick learner; adaptable to changeEffective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with ability to understand and carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, give directions, and speak clearlyBasic knowledge of relevant banking regulations and operational policiesProficient in use of PC based products including Word, Outlook and basic Excel; proficiency in using Deposit Pro preferredTyping skills sufficient to meet productivity demandsBasic math skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions and decimals; calculate interest and account balances; locate routine mathematical errors; and count currency and coinHigh school diploma or equivalencySome flexibility to work outside of normal business hours
