Job Description:

The Robotic Coordinator orchestrates the overall planning, organization, direction and evaluation of the Robotic Surgery Program. This includes coordination of care for robotics surgery patients, program management, patient, resident and staff education and training, supply and equipment management, as well as the oversight of multidisciplinary teams and acts as a liaison between the physicians, nursing staff, support staff, and vendors. The incumbent will also maintain quality standards for responsive services including data management of key quality metrics/indicators. The position is responsible for reviewing and revising schedules with physicians for cases and supports ongoing nursing and management with the needs of the schedule.

• Implements and manages all aspects of the Robotics Surgery program related to clinical and administrative processes, including development and implementation of clinical and programmatic policies and procedures, operational and staffing decisions in collaboration with the Operating Room Director and Physician staff.
• Sets up the da Vinci Surgical System for surgical procedures and performing clinical troubleshooting of the da Vinci System during robotic procedures. Serves as point person for any da Vinci related questions.
• Maintains records of surgical procedure pathways and guidelines. Develops and maintains performance and competency requirements for robotics surgical teams/staff.
• Evaluates and adjusts specialty team staffing. Works with service line Nurse Managers to complete patient care assignments based on expertise of the staff members and demands of the OR schedule.
• Routinely acts as a clinical resource / adviser to staff for problem identification and resolution. Anticipates and proactively guides care to prevent untoward events.
• Functions as a liaison with Intuitive Surgical
• Oversees the orientation, training, and preceptorship of department staff and residents to the Robotic Service.
• Ensures that any expenditures are within the budget. Knowledge of related benchmarks. Meets at least quarterly with the Financial analyst team / Robotic Users Group representative (RUGS) to review case costs / provides surgeons with case cost information.
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all-inclusive.Position Compensation Range: $71,988.80 - $115,190.40 AnnualMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program.Experience: At least three (3) years of operating room experience with two (2) years of experience in Robotic Surgery. One (1) year of leadership experience preferred.License/Certification: License to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.PHYSICAL DEMANDSJob requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
