AECOM is seeking a full-time, Senior Environmental Planner position. This position will be based out of the Austin, Texas office and include working with a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of AECOM and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) personnel, to coordinate and lead NEPA reviews, manage TxDOT subconsultants, and produce environmental documents (Categorical Exclusions [CEs], technical reports, reevaluations, etc.). This position will serve as an extension of TxDOT staff to facilitate environmental clearance, NEPA documentation, and planning efforts for the overall state transportation project development process. AECOM is seeking a dynamic individual, capable of conducting the below work; someone who works well with others and is comfortable in small or large groups; and who can prepare high quality technical documentation/reports/permit packages: * Prepare and review technical reports using TxDOT guidance/documentation standards. * Provide appropriate support to AECOM and TxDOT multidisciplinary teams in delivering satisfactory outcomes * Manage an internal AECOM environmental team on the preparation of deliverables to support an Environmental Assessment (EA) document * Write and review sections of the EA and associated technical reports * Act as a liaison between teams in different phases of project development (schematic/environmental, PS&E, and construction) * Work with Subject-Matter-Experts at TxDOT Environmental Affairs Division * Upload and maintain records in TxDOT---s Environmental Compliance Oversight System (ECOS). * Lead and coordinate environmental meetings between AECOM, TxDOT, and other partners. * Coordinate with TxDOT on Federal, State, and local agency policies/procedures/permit processes. * Manage and support complex environmental planning projects for TxDOT. * Lead the preparation of proposals, work scopes, and cost estimates. Minimum Requirements Education: * Bachelor of Science degree from a 4 year accredited college or university Experience: * 6 years of related planning and / or science experience * Knowledge of the relevant aspects of the transportation industry * General knowledge of key federal and state environmental policies and regulations * Knowledge of regulatory permitting, including USACE Section 404 Nationwide and Individual Permits * Proficient in MS Office Products Preferred Qualifications Preferred: * 10 years of experience working (including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents and environmental studies) * Experience working with and knowledge of TxDOT environmental standards * TxDOT pre-certifications in environmental categories * * Preference for candidates with project management experience Additional Information: What We Offer When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
