The University of Virginia's Department of Student Health and Wellness invites Diagnostic Radiologic Technicians (DRT) to apply for a full-time position. DRTs are responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in diagnostic radiology to ensure the production of quality images of all anatomical structures for interpretation by Radiologist.Responsibilities include:Effectively operating and maintaining required equipment necessary to produce radiographic images.Adhering to established imaging protocols and ensuring quality standards are met. Following established standards to ensure safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.Supporting educational component of the organizational mission statement; seeking opportunities to teach and learn in accordance with department/organizational standards, policies and protocols.Readily accepting ownership of clinical area; demonstrating pride in appearance and ensures readiness of exam rooms, equipment and supplies.In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $18-25/hour.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Associate's Degree in Radiography or a graduate of an accredited program.Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic TechnologistLicensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.PHYSICAL DEMANDSJob requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.The successful candidate will pass both a background check and a drug screen.
