Job Description:

Directly supports physicians and nurses with the preparation and set-up of specialized procedures and equipment. Anticipates instrument needs intra-procedure and assists the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Will also be responsible for assisting in high-risk procedures that may be highly technical and require specialized accessories and equipment. Will help maintain and set supply levels for endoscopy area and procedures rooms. Assist with emergent transportation needs and independently maintain quality control documentation records for equipment and/or reprocessing. Maintain and order all special order items and maintain adequate par levels according to special request and needs. Participate in hospital improvement activities.Supports physicians physician assistants, the anesthesia team, and nurses during invasive procedures.Supports direct care providers in the Prep Procedure and Recovery Room environment.Maintains necessary skills and competencies.Supports Endoscopy Care environment.Interfaces effectively with peers and customers and assumes responsibility for professional development of self and others per department policy.In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.Position Compensation Range: $15.68 - $24.30 HourlyMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: High school graduate or equivalent.Experience: No experience.Licensure: Must have nursing assistant certification or possess a valid EMT at time of hire. 2 years of endoscopy experience may be accepted in lieu of nursing assistant or EMT licensure requirement. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. Must successfully complete the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association (SGNA) Associates Program, which will grant recognition as a GI Technical Specialist (GTS) within 60 days of start date.PHYSICAL DEMANDSJob requires standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping/walking. Repetitive motion: decontamination of instrumentation, lifting instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs.
