Our application is not compatible with Internet Explorer (IE).Senior Workday AnalystJob Description Summary:The Senior HRIS Analyst provides operational excellence in support of the delivery and execution of the CFA Institute's HR strategy, specifically as it relates to Human Resources Information Systems. CFA Institute currently utilizes Workday Core HCM, Absence, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, Recruiting, Talent and Performance, Learning, and Payroll across 8+ countries. This position will be the primary administrator as it relates to Workday modules and Workday security administration, and will additionally support the seamless execution of compensation and benefits programs and processes.

The Senior HRIS Analyst participates in other work within the HR team's responsibility, including special projects and employment-related programs.

The position will be based in Charlottesville, VA or New York, NY and will report to the Senior HRIS Manager.Job Description:


  • Serve as HRIS liaison and Workday champion between users, management, and business stakeholders on HRIS issues and projects. This includes system design, maintenance, modifications/enhancements/fixes, and researching/troubleshooting operational/functional issues.
  • Partner with HR Systems team members to ensure consistency with overall HRIS strategy and implementation.
  • Proactively collaborate with HR team in delivery of assigned projects while maintaining a clear understanding of the integration with/downstream impact on other HR, Finance, and IT workstreams/systems.
  • Identify HR systems needs of users (HR and cross-organization) and partner with HR teammates to ensure necessary and adequate tools and training are provided.
  • Support business needs through the development and implementation of self-service dashboards and self-service/scheduled reports. This also includes coordinating with stakeholders to modify existing dashboards/reports to account for changes in security, updated business needs, or Workday-delivered field deprecation.
  • Support data integrity of the system, including quality, accuracy, reporting, timeliness, usability, data governance, compliance, and successful processing of integrations.
  • Serve as primary Workday security administrator and ensure that data stored within Workday is compliant with all regulatory requirements and applicable laws (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, GDPR, etc.).
  • Ensure HR Systems programs and processes are documented and compliant with HR, relevant COE, and HRIS strategies, policies and governmental regulations.
  • Serve as the Payroll/Finance liaison for the administration of HR systems and HR-related programs.
  • Serve as a back-up to the Total Rewards HRIS administrator to ensure the seamless execution of compensation and benefits programs and processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally to coordinate testing and communication in support of the semi-annual Workday releases.
  • Proactively communicate Workday alerts/resolutions to affected stakeholders; serve as a Named Support Contact to open cases with Workday on behalf of stakeholders and provide resolution
  • Serve as secondary liaison to the organization's HRIS consultant(s) and vendor(s).


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Minimum 3 years of related experience in HRIS; Human Resources and/or Payroll experience preferred
    • Workday HCM configuration and troubleshooting experience across multiple functional areas required
    • Workday security administration and advanced Workday Reporting experience (calculated fields, multiple report types, dashboard creation, etc.) strongly preferred
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile, analyze, interpret and present employee information and data accurately and with attention to detail
    • Fluency in English required; knowledge of additional languages would be useful
    • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation. Demonstrable ability to interact with employees across the organization at all levels
    • Proficient using standard office software, such as MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to handle highly confidential matters and materials with discretion and a high degree of professionalism
    • Must demonstrate a self-starting mindset and ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while concurrently flourishing in a team-oriented environment
    • Flexibility in competently juggling competing priorities and changing expectations
    • Critical thinker with strong time management, organization, multi-tasking and prioritization skills to meet deadlines
