Each year thousands of band/orchestra/choir directors including over 70,000 students entrust WorldStrides OnStage to facilitate their music tours, spanning more than 100 unique events across the country. Where preparation meets execution

The primary goal of the Sales and Events manager is to build and maintain long-lasting customer relationships, in turn growing their book of business into frequent repeat business. This is accomplished by generating new accounts to participate in our performing tours as well as rebooking existing accounts and providing superior customer service. The Sales and Events Manager works with Music Director to coordinate the planning of group travel, develops and maintains a long-term professional and personal relationship with each Music Director through consistent and meaningful contact, and works with other WorldStrides OnStage departments to provide a high level of customer service and an unsurpassed tour product experience. During Festival and Marching Band seasons, our team members will participate in the execution of our events. Performing Tour Specialists also actively engage in post-trip service and follow-up with their customers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales responsibilities:


  • Prospect potential customers by telephone.

  • Acquire new business while growing existing accounts.



    • Effectively communicate the OnStage Value Proposition

    • Recommend specific performing tour packages

    • Provide clear and accurate program and pricing information via consultative and conversational delivery



    • Actively maintain and manage a significant prospect portfolio.

    • Field incoming inquiries and follow-up on marketing-driven leads.



      • Maintain accurate, up-to-date account records and documentation within the CRM.

      • Maintain an active role in development and implementation of sales process improvements

      • Travel to participate in festival and Bowl Games/Parades delivery and execution.

      • Plan and attend fam trips for music directors attending a marching band event that season.

      • May act as Event Host.

      • Participate in ongoing sales and product training to continue to hone your skills and abilities.

      • Additional responsibilities as needed.

        Account management responsibilities (Marching Bands Director only)


        • Create a strong relationship with each Music Director.

        • Maintain telephone contact with customers within set guidelines and document all contacts.

        • Produce itinerary and specific tour plans for each group within appropriate time frame.

        • Provide excellent external customer service by responding promptly to customer's inquiries, displaying proper phone and email etiquette, and being courteous.

        • Properly set customers' expectations.

        • Support the implementation of all incentive and promotional programs.

        • Balance the customer's expectations with the company's fiscal goals.

        • Maintain clear and comprehensive file records.

          OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

          Team work:


          • To function as a contributing member of the Bowl Games & Parades team through open exchanges, assisting other team members as needed, and by partnering with your Team leader, your Sales Director, finance team, operations and procurement teams, and performing Tour Specialists.

          • Provide excellent internal customer service.

          • Work with procurement team and others on systems for communication and file documentation.

            Additional Responsibilities:


            • Attend and contribute to regular team meetings.

            • Report group information to Sales Director as requested.

            • Assist fellow team members as needed.

            • Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

              Standard Department Member Responsibilities:


              • Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures.

              • Support company policies and management decisions in a professional manner.

              • Identify and discuss personal and professional growth goals with Sales Director.

              • Seek out and participate in internal and external programs that facilitate personal and professional growth.

              • Facilitate and/or perform training of staff members as requested.

              • Foster communication within the department, with other departments and with management.

              • Write and deliver self-performance appraisal to Sales Director on an annual basis.

                Qualifications:


                • Sales experience preferred

                • Strong drive and ambition

                • Must have a positive attitude and exhibit high level of enthusiasm

                • Self-disciplined with an aptitude to stay on task

                • Desire for continuous improvement and coach-ability

                • Ability to work independently as well as function within a team

                • Music background is preferred, but not required

                • Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent sales experience

                • Positive, solution-oriented attitude.

                • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

                • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, data-driven environment.

                • Strong interpersonal skills - excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a clear and professional telephone demeanor.

                • Keen attention to detail - must possess the ability to visually proof documents and work efficiently on a computer.

                • Required to operate in a variety of public environments.

                • Ability to balance customer service expectations with business considerations.

                • Multiple years of proven excellence in a customer relationship management and/or customer service environment a plus.

                • Willingness to expand time commitment as necessary.

                • Solid computer skills.

                • Required to drive an automobile.
